A DEDICATED manager of a Rhyl Extra Care Scheme has been presented
with a special award recognising her commitment to professional
development.
Glenys Roulston, manager of Hafan Gwydir in Llanrwst and Gorwel
Newydd Extra Care Centre in Rhyl, was presented with the Dr Buddug Owen
Award for Performance Development at a recent meeting of Pennaf Housing
Association.
The award is presented annually to the employee who has shown an
outstanding commitment to training and development which benefits the
services provided.
Glenys was nominated by supported housing manager Steve Robinson,
and Kevin Hughes, director of care and support services for Clwyd Alyn
Housing Association, who outlined how completing an NVQ Level 4 in
Management had equipped Glenys with a broad management qualification to
complement her practical experience.
When presenting the award, Dr Owen paid tribute to both Glenys’
professional standards and the individual care she has provided both at
Hafan Gwydir and at Gorwel Newydd Extra Care Centre.
“Glenys has made a great contribution to making both of these
schemes work for the Association and its partner agencies,” said Dr
Owen.
As well as the commemorative shield Glenys was also presented with a cheque.
