St Albans care manager recognised for exemplary work

A St Albans care home manager has been recognised for her outstanding contribution to the lives of her elderly residents.

Julie Oakley-Reid, manager of Jane Campbell House, was handed the Leadership 2010 gong by the care home provider, Quantum Care Awards.

Voted for by residents, relatives and staff at the care home, in Waverley Road, Julie received several nominations praising her exemplary leadership skills.

One nomination read: “As a relative of my 98-year-old mother, who I visit regularly at Jane Campbell House, I have observed the effectiveness of Julie’s leadership - she is clearly a good team builder as the senior care team around her are excellent."

On receiving the prize at the company's fourth awards ceremony on Friday, May 14, Julie said: “I am really delighted to have received this award. I really love my job, and am really proud of my team, and the standards of care they achieve at Jane Campbell House."

Maria Ball of Quantum Care added: “These awards give us the ability to publicly identify and thank those members of staff who are committed to excellence and best practice. We are extremely proud of our staff, and this is a great way to publicly thank them for the fantastic work they do."
